Understanding the record

Three questions. Different answers.

A university determination, a plaintiff’s allegations, and a court judgment carry different meanings.

01

What is alleged?

The plaintiff alleges she was raped while incapacitated after an October 2024 fraternity-associated party. Suspected drugging is not presented as toxicologically confirmed.

02

What did CSU determine?

CSU confirmed a responsibility finding and one-year suspension to CBS. The Coloradoan reports an appeal upheld the decision. The decision itself has not been obtained.

03

What remains unresolved?

The lawsuit has not established liability. CBS reports that CSU is not a defendant. The original complaint and full docket have not been obtained.

The reported sequence

From allegation
to civil litigation.

A timeline that keeps the source and status of each event visible.

Every entry links to reporting or a public statement. Where the primary record is unavailable, the archive says so.

What happens next?

Party and alleged assault

The Coloradoan reports allegations of an off-campus party, transportation to the chapter house and an assault while the plaintiff was incapacitated.

Medical care and police investigation

Reporting describes a hospital examination and police evidence collection. Reports differ on the precise examination date. CBS says the case was not formally presented for charges.

Membership action reported

The Coloradoan reports that the complaint dates the member’s suspension to October 14. Phi Delta Theta later told CBS it removed him.
